Amy’s professional experience spans the luxury goods retail sector and HR recruitment across a wide range of industries.
Amy began her career at Burberry PLC in the HR team of the London headquarters, having successfully worked as an intern for Burberry during her degree course in Business Studies at Leeds. During her time at Burberry Amy also studied towards the Personnel & Development (CIPD) qualification at Westminster University, whilst covering all aspects of HR for the retail business of more than 400 people. Amy then moved across the business to spend time working in store management at the flagship Knightsbridge branch and Burberry concession at Harrods.
Amy decided to focus on the headhunting aspect of recruitment by moving to agencies that specialised in recruiting senior HR professionals in a variety of industries, namely Media, Retail and Financial Services. After various successes placing senior candidates, Amy joined Harrods as an HR Consultant, coordinating the selection and inductions of new employees.
Throughout Amy’s career she has met and worked with many high profile professionals and customers and used this network to launch herself as a freelance PA/concierge in the lifestyle management business. Amy now works for a number of professionals including a hedge fund manager, a senior editor on a national newspaper and the Managing Directors of two small consultancies. She manages duties covering all personal requests including: Organising UK & worldwide travel arrangements; Diary administration; Property management; Audio typing/transcribing interviews; Personal shopping and event organising, to name but a few!
In July 2009, Amy also assisted in the logistics of a high profile global event called Beyond Sport, which aims to exand the impact that sport can have on society. The event was attended by more than 900 people including VIPs such as Desmond Tutu, Tony Blair, Boris Johnson, Dame Kelly Holmes, Michael Parkinson, Ian Thorpe, Michael Johnson, Auma Obama and HRH Prince Faisal Al Hussein.
Juggling such a diverse workload requires great organisational skills plus total flexibility, dedication, discretion and loyalty. Amy takes the pressures of life away from her clients and takes great satisfaction and pride in being able to make a difference. Her high energy levels and eternally sunny disposition means she can be trusted to complete jobs quickly with commitment and enthusiasm.
Amy has joined the My PA team to develop the brand as a partner based in London.
